ASP.NET Momentum
Tim O’Reilly: “What’s particularly interesting is the way that Microsoft is reaching out to attract PHP, JSP and Cold Fusion developers. They’ve engaged both O’Reilly and Dr. Dobb’s Journal to co-produce an ASP 2.0 training center, on the theory that we’re going to be better than they are at reaching out to non-Microsoft developers. And rather than just the usual product pitches, they’ve actually asked us to provide information on interoperability between these various web programming toolsets.”
It is good to see the strong momentum of ASP.NET- the toolset is much more accessible for most web developers. Credit for the growth in the ASP.NET book market should go not only to Microsoft but also to third-party publishers like Wiley/Wrox. Congratulations to Jim Minatel and his team for their contribution to the success of ASP.NET 2.0 books.

Thanks Randy. I think the credit after MSFT for creating a superb platform goes to the author/evangelists, the gangs of INETA/RD/MVP gurus like Bill Evjen, Scott Hanselman, David Yack, Jonathon Goodyear, and so forth who are relentless in their efforts to get out the good word about how useful the ASP.NET 2.0 platform is.
