New Amazon storage service

Posted by: Randy Holloway on: March 14, 2006

Rob Hof: “That’s right, the online store with “Earth’s biggest selection” of everything from books to zithers will announce Tuesday morning that it’s adding a new and different kind of service: an unlimited data storage service aimed at software developers who are creating new Web sites and services.”

More and more, Amazon is looking like a “Web platform” company rather than a consumer-focused commerce site. It is fun to see the different development features and services that Amazon is offering. I’m looking forward to seeing more of the developer-centric features to support Windows Live services as well. Lots of competition in this area.
