Concentration- a rare thing these days
Buinesspundit: "[W]ill the successful companies (and employees) of the future be the ones that can do the hard things? Will concentration be a major source of competitive advantage in the coming years? When everyone is focusing on strategy, leadership, and technology as their sources of competitive advantage, will you be able to win by building a workforce that can execute because they can block out the mass of digital distraction and get things done?"
This makes me think of companies that take a "shotgun" approach to their business strategy. Will the companies that try to do everything be able to compete agains the companies that focus on a few things but do them extremely well? This will be the challenge for the web as many companies will focus on buidling out a ton of different products, features and scenarios. The players that focus on delivering a core platform with the best scale and support for developers may have the advantage.
