IE7 standards and security- look for the facts

The Idealog has a story on IE7 and bashes the product thoroughly for being unsecure and not in compliance with mainstream web standards. While the data isn’t really in on IE7 yet since the product isn’t complete and it isn’t widely deployed, I’m inclined to challenge the assumptions about security based on what I know about the architecture of the product and my experience in using it. There is more in the comments that leads me to believe that the writer needs to do some more fact checking. For instance, to use a quote more than a year old to claim there is a security issue and to not be able to back it up with specific facts is unsettling at best. Given the sensitive nature of this topic, I’ll leave it to people with much greater expertise to comment on these issues. I do encourage you to get the facts before judging IE7.

Crazy; the guy has hundreds of CSS errors on his page and complains that IE doesn’t render it properly. The Thurott article is old and already debunked.
