The format wars- “payola” for the new millenium

It seems that this format war between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray comes down to who writes the biggest check, doesn’t it? Warner just decided to drop HD-DVD like a bad habit based on “Q4 sales”. Adjusted for availability of content, I’m pretty sure that Blu-ray hasn’t outsold HD-DVD so I’m not sure what sales figures they’re focused on. Fortunately for us, the consumers still get to decide. I suspect that this thing will come to head by summer- still not sure who will win in the end.
