It’s hard for a blog like Freakonomics to measure the level of intervention. I mean, how do you measure “intervention?” We know that Glass-Steagall was a game-changing regulatory act. Sarbanes-Oxley has had huge impact on our financial markets and the competitiveness of our stock exchanges. But I’d like to see how Freakonomics measures “intervention.”
